                                A likely colour, (be it nere so vaine)<lb/>
                                Proceede as if their Projects were as sure,<lb/>
                                As when Sound Reason did their Course maintayne:<lb/>
                                And these not much unlike those Children are,<lb/>
                                Who through a Storme advent'ring desp'rately,<lb/>
                                Had rather on their Heads, a Sive to beare,<lb/>
                                Then Cov'rings, that may serve to keepe them drye.<lb/>
                                For, at a distance that perchance is thought<lb/>
                                A helpfull Shelter; and, yet, proves to those<lb/>
                                Who neede the same, a Toy, which profits nought;<lb/>
                                Because, each drop of Raine quite through it, goes.<lb/>
                                So, they, whose foolish Projects, for a while,<lb/>
                                Doe promise their Projectors hopefull ends,<lb/>
                                Shall finde them, in the Tryall, to beguile;<lb/>
                                And, that both Shame and Want, on them attends.<lb/>
                                Such like is their estate, who, (to appeare<lb/>
                                Rich-men to others) doe, with Inward-payne,<lb/>
                                A gladsome out-ward Port desire to beare;<lb/>
                                Though they at last nor Wealth nor Credit gaine.<lb/>
                                And, such are all those Hypocrites, who strive<lb/>
                                False Hearts beneath Faire spoken Words to hyde:<lb/>
                                For, they o'revaile themselves but with a Sive,<lb/>
                                Through which, their purposes at length are spyde.<lb/>
                                And, then, they either woefully-lament<lb/>
                                Their Bruitish-folly, or so hardned grow<lb/>
                                In Sinning, that they never can repent,<lb/>
                                Nay, jest and scoffe at their owne Overthrow.<lb/>
                                But no false Vaile can serve (when God will smite)<lb/>
                                To save a Scorner, or an Hypocrite.<lb/>
