<p>I Will not blame those grieved Hearts that shed<lb/> Becoming-teares, for their departed Friends;<lb/> Nor those who sigh out Passions for the Dead;<lb/> Since, on Good-natures, this Disease attends.<lb/> When Sorrow is conceiv'd, it must have Vent<lb/> (In Sighes or Moysture) or the Heart will breake;<lb/> And, much they aggravate our Discontent,<lb/> Who, out of Season, Reason seeme to speake.<lb/> Yet, since our Frailty may require we should<lb/> Remembrances admit to keepe us from<lb/> Excesse in Griefe: this Emblem here behold,<lb/> And take such Hope as may our Teares become.<lb/> The Wheat, although a while it lyes in Earth,<lb/> (And seemeth lost) consumes not quite away;<lb/> But, from that Wombe receives another Birth,<lb/> And, with Additions, riseth from the Clay.<lb/> Much more shall Man revive, whose worth is more:<lb/> For, Death, who from our Drosse will us refine,<lb/> Vnto that other Life, becomes the Doore,<lb/> Where, we in Immortalitie shall shine.<lb/> When once our Glasse is runne, we presently<lb/> Give up our Soules to Death; So Death must give<lb/> Our Bodies backe againe, that we, thereby,<lb/> The Light of Life eternall, may receive.<lb/> The Venom'd Sting of Death is tooke away;<lb/> And, now, the Grave, that was a Place of Feare,<lb/> Is made a Bed of Rest, wherein we may<lb/> Lye downe in Hope, and bide in safety, there.<lb/> When we are Borne, to Death-ward straight we runne;<lb/> And by our Death, our Life is new begunne.<lb/> </p>
