TEXT_EXPL_XML <p>A Crowned Scepter, here is fixt upright,<lb/>
                                Betwixt foure Fowles, whose postures may declare,<lb/>
                                They came from Coasts, or Climats opposite,<lb/>
                                And, that, they diffring in their natures are.<lb/>
                                In which, (as in some others, that we finde<lb/>
                                Amongst these Emblems ) little care I take<lb/>
                                Precisely to unfold our Authors minde;<lb/>
                                Or, on his meaning, Comments here to make.<lb/>
                                It is the scope of my Intention, rather<lb/>
                                From such perplext Inventions (which have nought,<lb/>
                                Of Ancient Hieroglyphicky sense, to gather,<lb/>
                                Whereby, some usefull Morall may be taught.<lb/>
                                And, from these Figures, my Collections be,<lb/>
                                That, Kingdomes, and the Royall-dignitie,<lb/>
                                Are best upheld, where Subjects doe agree,<lb/>
                                To keepe upright the state of Soveraignty.<lb/>
                                When, from each Coast and quarter of the Land,<lb/>
                                The Rich, the Poore, the Swaine, the Gentleman,<lb/>
                                Leads, in all wants, and at all times, his hand,<lb/>
                                To give the best assistance that he can:<lb/>
                                Yea, when with Willing-hearts, and Winged-speed,<lb/>
                                The men of all Degrees, doe duely carry<lb/>
                                Their Aides to publike-workes, in time of need,<lb/>
                                And, to their Kings, be freely tributary:<lb/>
                                Then shall the Kingdome gayne the gloriest height;<lb/>
                                Then shall the Kingly-Title be renown'd;<lb/>
                                Then shall the Royall-Scepter stand upright,<lb/>
                                And, with supremest Honour, then, be Crown'd.<lb/>
                                But, where this Duty long neglect, they shall;<lb/>
                                The King will suffer, and, the Kingdome fall.<lb/>
