<p>Bee merry man, and let no causelesse feare<lb/> Of Constellation, fatall Destinie,<lb/> Or of those false Decrees, that publish'd are<lb/> By foolish braines, thy Conscience terrifie.<lb/> To thee, these Figures better Doctrines teach,<lb/> Than those blind Stoikes, who necessitate<lb/> Contingent things ; and, arrogantly teach<lb/> (For doubtlesse truths) their dreames of changelesse Fate.<lb/> Though true it bee, that those things which pertaine,<lb/> As Ground-workes, to Gods glorie, and our blisse,<lb/> Are fixt, for aye, unchanged to remaine;<lb/> All, is not such, that thereon builded is.<lb/> God, gives men power, to build on his Foundation ;<lb/> And, if their workes bee thereunto agreeing,<lb/> No Power-created, brings that Variation,<lb/> Which can disturbe, the Workmans happy being.<lb/> Nor, of those workings, which required are,<lb/> Is any made unpossible, untill<lb/> Mans heart begins that Counsell to preferre,<lb/> Which is derived from a crooked-will.<lb/> The Starres, and many other things, incline<lb/> Our nat'rall Constitutions, divers wayes;<lb/> But, in the Soule, God plac'd a Power-divine,<lb/> Which, all those Inclinations, overswayes.<lb/> Yea, God, that Prudence, hath infus'd, by Grace,<lb/> Which, till Selfe-will, and Lust, betrayes a man,<lb/> Will keepe him firmely, in that happy place,<lb/> From whence, no Constellation move him can.<lb/> And, this is that, whereof I notice take,<lb/> From this great Starre, enclosed by a Snake.<lb/> </p>
