TEXT_EXPL_XML <p>There be of those in every Common-weale,<lb/>
                                Whom to this Emblem we resemble may;<lb/>
                                The Name of none I purpose to reveale,<lb/>
                                But, their Condition, heere, I will display.<lb/>
                                Some, both by gifts of Nature, and of Grace,<lb/>
                                Are so prepared, that, they might be fit<lb/>
                                To stand as Lights, in profitable place;<lb/>
                                Yet, loose their Talent, by neglecting it.<lb/>
                                Some, to the common Grace, and nat'rall parts,<lb/>
                                (By helpe of Nurture, and good Discipline )<lb/>
                                Have added an accomplishment of Arts,<lb/>
                                By which, their Light may much the brighter shine.<lb/>
                                Some others, have to this, acquired more:<lb/>
                                For, to maintaine their Lampe, in giving light,<lb/>
                                Of Waxe, and Oyle, and Fatnesse, they have store,<lb/>
                                Which over-flowes unto them, day and night.<lb/>
                                And, ev'n as Lampes, or Candles, on a Table,<lb/>
                                (Or, fixt on golden Candlesticks, on high)<lb/>
                                To light Assemblies, Great and Honourable,<lb/>
                                They, oft, have (also) place of Dignitie.<lb/>
                                By meanes of which, their Splendor might become<lb/>
                                His praise, who those high favours did bequeath:<lb/>
                                They might encrease the Light of Christendome,<lb/>
                                And, make them see, who sit in shades of Death.<lb/>
                                But, many of them, like those Candles bee,<lb/>
                                That stand unlighted in a Branch of gold:<lb/>
                                For, by their helpe wee nothing more can see,<lb/>
                                Than wee in grossest darknesse, may behold.<lb/>
                                If such there be, (as there bee such, I feare.)<lb/>
                                The question is, For what good use they are.<lb/>
