<p>If to his thoughts my Comments have assented,<lb/> By whom the following Emblem was invented,<lb/> I'le hereby teach you ( Ladies ) to discover<lb/> A true-bred Cupid, from a fained Lover ;<lb/> And, shew (if you have Wooers) which be they,<lb/> That worth'est are to beare your Hearts away.<lb/> As is the Boy, which, here, you pictured see,<lb/> Let them be young, or let them, rather, be<lb/> Of suiting-yeares (which is instead of youth )<lb/> And, wooe you in the nakednesse, of Truth ;<lb/> Not in the common and disguised Clothes,<lb/> Of Mimick-gestures, Complements, and Oathes.<lb/> Let them be winged with a swift Desire ;<lb/> And, not with slow-affections, that will tyre.<lb/> But, looke to this, as to the principall,<lb/> That, Love doe make them truly Musicall :<lb/> For, Love's a good Musician ; and, will show<lb/> How, every faithfull Lover may be so.<lb/> Each word he speakes, will presently appeare<lb/> To be melodious Raptures in your eare:<lb/> Each gesture of his body, when he moves,<lb/> Will seeme to play, or sing, a Song of Loves :<lb/> The very lookes, and motions of his eyes,<lb/> Will touch your Heart-strings, with sweet Harmonies ;<lb/> And, if the Name of him, be but exprest,<lb/> T'will cause a thousand quaverings in your breast.<lb/> Nay, ev'n those Discords, which occasion'd are,<lb/> Will make your Musicke, much the sweeter, farre.<lb/> And, such a mooving Diapason strike,<lb/> As none but Love, can ever play the like.<lb/> </p>
