                                Deceived be, than causelesly distrust:<lb/>
                                Yet, whom I credited; and, then, how farre ;<lb/>
                                Bee Cautions, which I thought worth heeding were:<lb/>
                                And, had not this been taught me long agone,<lb/>
                                I had been poorer, if not quite undone.<lb/>
                                That, others to such warinesse, may come,<lb/>
                                This Emblem, here, hath filled up a roome;<lb/>
                                And, though a vulgar Figure, it may seeme,<lb/>
                                The Morall, of it, meriteth esteeme.<lb/>
                                That Seeing-Palme, (endowed with an Eye,<lb/>
                                And handling of a Heart ) may signifie<lb/>
                                What warie Watchfulnesse, observe we must,<lb/>
                                Before we venter on a weightie Trust :<lb/>
                                And, that, to keepe our kindnesse from abuse,<lb/>
                                There is of double-diligence, an use.<lb/>
                                Mens hearts, are growne so false, that most are loath<lb/>
                                To trust each others Words, or Bands, or Oath :<lb/>
                                For, though wee had in every part an Eye,<lb/>
                                We could not search out all Hypocrisie ;<lb/>
                                Nor, by our utmost providence, perceive<lb/>
                                How many wayes, are open to deceive.<lb/>
                                Now, then (although perhaps thou art so wise,<lb/>
                                To know already, what I would advise)<lb/>
                                Yet may this Emblem, or this Motto, bee<lb/>
                                Instead of some Remembrancer, to thee.<lb/>
                                So, take it therefore; And, be sure, if either<lb/>
                                This Warning, or thy Wit, (or both together)<lb/>
                                Can, still, secure thee from deceitfull-hearts ;<lb/>
                                Thy luck exceedeth all thy other parts.<lb/>
