                                Which, with his Light, his Houre-glasse, and his booke,<lb/>
                                Sits, in a watching-posture, formed here;<lb/>
                                And, when thou hast perus'd that Motto, there,<lb/>
                                On which he layes his hand; thy selfe apply<lb/>
                                To what it counselleth; and, learne to die,<lb/>
                                While that Light burnes, and, that short-houre doth last,<lb/>
                                Which, for this Lesson, thou obtained hast.<lb/>
                                And, in this bus'nesse, use thou no delayes;<lb/>
                                For, if the bigger Motto truely, sayes,<lb/>
                                There is not left unto thee, one whole Watch,<lb/>
                                Thy necessary labours, to dispatch.<lb/>
                                It was no more, when first thy Life begunne;<lb/>
                                And, many Glasses of that Watch be runne:<lb/>
                                Which thou observing, shouldst be put in minde,<lb/>
                                To husband well, the space that is behind.<lb/>
                                Endeavour honestly, whil'st thou hast light :<lb/>
                                Deferre thou not, thy Iourney, till the night ;<lb/>
                                Nor, sleepe away, in Vanities, the prime,<lb/>
                                And flowre, of thy most acceptable time.<lb/>
                                So watchfull, rather, and, so carefull be,<lb/>
                                That, whensoere the Bridegroome summons thee;<lb/>
                                And, when thy Lord returnes, unlookt for, home;<lb/>
                                Thou mayst, a Partner, in their joyes, become.<lb/>
                                And, oh my God! so warie, and so wise,<lb/>
                                Let me be made; that, this, which I advise<lb/>
                                To other men (and really have thought)<lb/>
                                May, still, in practice, by my selfe, be brought:<lb/>
                                And, helpe, and pardon me, when I transgresse,<lb/>
                                Through humane frailtie, or, forgetfulnesse.
