TEXT_EXPL_XML <p>Upon an Altar, in this Emblem, stands<lb/>
                                A Burning-heart ; and, therewithall, you see<lb/>
                                Beneath Deaths-head, a paire of Loving-hands,<lb/>
                                Which, close, and fast-united, seeme to be.<lb/>
                                These moderne Hieroglyphickes (vulgarly<lb/>
                                Thus bundled up together) may afford<lb/>
                                Good-meanings, with as much Propriety,<lb/>
                                As best, with common Iudgements, will accord.<lb/>
                                It may imply, that, when both Hand and Heart,<lb/>
                                By sympathizing dearenesse are invited,<lb/>
                                To meet each others nat'rall Counterpart,<lb/>
                                And, are by sacred Ordinance united:<lb/>
                                They then have entred that strict Obligation,<lb/>
                                By which they, firmely, ev'ry way are ty'd;<lb/>
                                And, without meanes (or thought of separation)<lb/>
                                Should in that Vnion, till their Deaths, abide;<lb/>
                                This, therefore, minde thou, whatsoere thou be<lb/>
                                (Whose Marriage-ring, this Covenant, hath sealed)<lb/>
                                For, though, thy Faith's infringement, none can see,<lb/>
                                Thy secret fault, shall one day, be revealed.<lb/>
                                And, thou that art at liberty, take heed,<lb/>
                                Lest thou (as over great a number doe)<lb/>
                                Of thine owne person, make a Privy-deed,<lb/>
                                And, afterwards, deny thy doing so.<lb/>
                                For, though there be, nor Church, nor Chappell, nigh thee<lb/>
                                (Nor outward witnesses of what is done)<lb/>
                                A Power-invisible doth alwayes eye thee;<lb/>
                                And, thy pretended Love, so lookes upon,<lb/>
                                That, if thou be not, till thy dying, true;<lb/>
                                Thy Falsehood, till thy dying, thou shalt rue.
