TEXT_EXPL_XML <p>Some Folkes there are, (and many men suppose,<lb/>
                                That I my selfe, may passe for one of those)<lb/>
                                Who many likely Businesses intend,<lb/>
                                Yet, bring but very few, unto an end.<lb/>
                                Which folly to prevent, this Emblem, here,<lb/>
                                Did in a luckie houre, perhaps, appeare.<lb/>
                                For, as to draw a Circle, with our hand,<lb/>
                                We cause the brazen Compasses to stand<lb/>
                                With one foot firmely fixed one the ground;<lb/>
                                And move the other in a Constant-round :<lb/>
                                Right so, when we shall purpose to proceed<lb/>
                                In any just, and profitable deed,<lb/>
                                We first, should by a constant-resolution,<lb/>
                                Stand firme, to what we put in execution:<lb/>
                                And, then, with perseverance, labour out<lb/>
                                Those workings, which we are employ'd about.<lb/>
                                For, we with constant-liking, must elect<lb/>
                                Those Businesses, we purpose to effect:<lb/>
                                Or els, our time, our labour, and our cost,<lb/>
                                Will, oft, be much in vaine, or wholly lost.<lb/>
                                With constant-labour, we must follow, too,<lb/>
                                Those things, which we resolved are to do;<lb/>
                                Or, els, our hopes will never be effected,<lb/>
                                How warily soe're we have projected.<lb/>
                                Long Iourneys I abhorre; yet, otherwhile<lb/>
                                I meane a Furlong, and performe a Mile.<lb/>
                                I greatly feare Long-labours to begin;<lb/>
                                Yet, some I finish, when I'me entred in:<lb/>
                                And, if in Labour, I more constant grow,<lb/>
                                How I improve, hereafter, you shall know.<lb/>
