                                And, in his travaile, step by step, doth goe,<lb/>
                                So leisurely, as if he tir'd had bin,<lb/>
                                Before his painfull Iourney did beginne;<lb/>
                                Yet, all the day, he stifly ploddeth on,<lb/>
                                Vntill the labour of the day be done:<lb/>
                                And, seemes as fresh (though he his taske hath wrought)<lb/>
                                As when to worke, he first of all was brought.<lb/>
                                Meane-while, the Palfray, which more swiftnesse had,<lb/>
                                Hath lost his breath, or proves a Resty-jade.<lb/>
                                This Emblem, therefore, maketh it appeare,<lb/>
                                How much it profiteth, to persevere ;<lb/>
                                And, what a little Industry will doe,<lb/>
                                If wee continue constant thereunto.<lb/>
                                For, meanest Faculties, discreetly us'd,<lb/>
                                May get the start, of nobler Gifts, abus'd.<lb/>
                                This, may obserued be in many a one:<lb/>
                                For (when their course of life was first begunne)<lb/>
                                Some, whose refined wits, aspi'rd as high,<lb/>
                                As if above the Sphaeres, they were to flie:<lb/>
                                By Sloth, or Pride, or over-trusting to<lb/>
                                Their owne Sufficiencies, themselves undoe.<lb/>
                                Yea, and those forward-wits, have liv'd to see<lb/>
                                Themselves inferiours, unto those, to be,<lb/>
                                Whom, they did in their jollity, contemne,<lb/>
                                As blocks, or dunces, in respect of them.<lb/>
                                Then, learne, Great-wits, this folly to prevent:<lb/>
                                Let Meane-wits, take from hence, incouragement:<lb/>
                                And, let us all, in our Affaires proceed,<lb/>
                                With timely leisure, and with comely speed.<lb/>
