TEXT_EXPL_XML <p>A fixed Palme, (whose Fingers doe appeare,<lb/>
                                As if displayed, and advanc'd they were)<lb/>
                                Intended by our Author, here, wee see,<lb/>
                                To shaddow out agreeing-Minds, that bee<lb/>
                                Establish'd in one Trust. And, well it may,<lb/>
                                That Vertue, of the holy Church display.<lb/>
                                For, as our hands, the better meanes can make,<lb/>
                                To gaine, as well as to retaine, or take,<lb/>
                                The benefits we seeke; when wee intend,<lb/>
                                Our differing Fingers, all, to worke one end:<lb/>
                                So, when the Church of Christ (wherein wee finde<lb/>
                                A diffrence of Degrees ) shall with one minde,<lb/>
                                Persue a faithfull hope; they'l soone obtaine,<lb/>
                                That wished benefit, they seeke to gaine:<lb/>
                                For, when but two or three shall in Gods name,<lb/>
                                Request a blessing, he will grant the same.<lb/>
                                Let all thy sev'rall Churches, Lord (that stand<lb/>
                                Like many Fingers, members of one Hand )<lb/>
                                Thy Will Essentiall with joynt love obay,<lb/>
                                Though circumstantially, they differ may.<lb/>
                                Some have the larger Circuit, some are stronger,<lb/>
                                Some are of short continuance, some of longer;<lb/>
                                But, though their Guifts may differ, yet provide,<lb/>
                                That, still, on one Foundation, they may bide;<lb/>
                                And, that, all those, who in one Faith agree,<lb/>
                                May, in one Band of Love, united bee:<lb/>
                                Till our consined Wisdome comes to know,<lb/>
                                That, many things, for which wee wrangle so,<lb/>
                                Would further that, whose hindrance wee doe feare,<lb/>
                                If more our Faith, and losse our Discord were.<lb/>
