TEXT_EXPL_XML <p>An Arme is with a Garland here extended;<lb/>
                                And, as the Motto saith, it is intended,<lb/>
                                To all that persevere. This being so;<lb/>
                                Let none be faint in heart, though they be slow :<lb/>
                                For, he that creepes, untill his Race be done,<lb/>
                                Shall gaine a Wreath, aswell as they that runne.<lb/>
                                This being so; let no man walke in doubt,<lb/>
                                As if Gods Arme of Grace were stretched out<lb/>
                                To some small number: For, whoe're begins<lb/>
                                And perseueres, the profer'd Garland winns:<lb/>
                                And, God respects no persons; neither layes<lb/>
                                A stumbling blocke in any of our Waies.<lb/>
                                This being so, let no man think't enough<lb/>
                                To set his hand, a little, to the Plough,<lb/>
                                And, then desist; but, let him still pursue,<lb/>
                                To doe that Worke, to which that Wreath is due:<lb/>
                                For, nor on Good beginners, nor on those<lb/>
                                That, walke halfe-way, (much lesse on him, that goes<lb/>
                                No stepp at all) will God this gift conferre;<lb/>
                                But, onely, unto those that persevere.<lb/>
                                Lord, by thy Grace, an entrance I have made<lb/>
                                In honest Pathes ; and, thy assistance had,<lb/>
                                To make in them, some slow proceedings too.<lb/>
                                Oh grant me, full abilitie, to doe<lb/>
                                Thy sacred Will ; and, to beginn, and end<lb/>
                                Such Workes, as to thy glory, still, may tend.<lb/>
                                That ( Walking, and continuing in the Path,<lb/>
                                Which evermore, thine approbation hath)<lb/>
                                I may that Garland, by thy grace, obtaine,<lb/>
                                Which, by mine owne desert, I cannot gaine.<lb/>
